Over 4000 knights trained at our 2024 events alone!

What is it, exactly?

Festivals and events embody the idea of people making memories through taking part and having fun. Get Medieval shares this vision, which is why we bring our knightly sword fighting activity to the masses during festivals and events! See your guests go from squire to knight as they battle it out in duels, all versus alls, and massive (but controlled) team fights! Once they’ve qualified as knights, they can kick back and relax and witness our fully armoured knights compete in full contact sword fighting. Contact us now, and together we’ll make your event historic.

Another year at Latitude proved to be as fun as always with some familiar faces and plenty of new ones!

Reasons to book with us

  • Utilising modern equipment, and a robust safety briefing (don’t worry it doesn’t take long!), we make sure that you and your guest's safety is paramount so that everyone can fun.

    • Confidence in the kit. We use top of the line, sports grade equipment at every booking that is regularly checked for integrity. We always carry a first aid kit in the rare case of injury.

    • Confidence in the staff. All our staff are trained in how to properly deliver the safety briefing to ensure you and your guests are safe while having fun.

    • Confidence in the briefing. We have a robust safety briefing which is delivered at every booking. This covers how to properly wear and use the equipment and the important rules to follow.

Don’t just take our word for it, Dan from Gone Wild Devon wrote ‘‘Really fun family activity well organised and good safety.’'

  • We have public liability insurance cover up to £5 million.

  • We’re pretty much a self contained operation. Just point us where you want us to set up and away we go. We bring our own arena poles, tents, and all our own kit. Sometimes, if possible, we might request some hay bales or tables but that’s only if they are available on site anyway.

  • We can scale our operations to match your needs. For our soft kit sword fighting we typically run 30 people sessions every 30 mins or every hour. We can run for as long, or as short, as your event requires. There is a possibility to cater for more by running multiple sessions at one time or by bringing additional kit.

As our Knight Fight is a spectator sport this can accommodate as many people as can get a view.

We are happy to work out specific capacities with you.

  • We offer multiple activities that you can book entirely through us, and they all work together within a medieval theme. Soft kit sword fighting, Knight Fight, and badge making are handled directly by us. Other activities, such as archery, manuscript writing, and medieval coin punching, are provided by our trusted partners (subject to availability).

Either way, all you need to do is let us know which ones you want and we will do the rest and, if one of the activities is provided by our partners, confirm their availability with you as soon as possible.

  • Festivals are already wanting us back with Latitude, Gone Wild Devon and Gone Wild Norfolk wanting us back for 2025 after successful events in 2024. Check out our highlighted reviews from our review book which we brought to all our 2024 events and, upon request, we can provide pictures of said reviews.

Armoured Fighting

Knight Fight, the perfect spectacle to behold after having taken part in the soft kit sword fighting as guests get to see the skills they’ve learnt be realised in fully armoured fights! Or, perhaps, they’ll be inspired after watching to come and give the knight life a go. All our armoured fighters are experienced and have full liability insurance to give you peace of mind.

Heraldry Badge Making

Want something a bit more crafty for those guests that might be too young for the sword fighting or just want something a bit more relaxed? Then heraldic badge making is a great way for little ones, and big ones, to design something unique and have a personalised momento to bring home.
