What can we help you do?

Become the teacher they’ll never forget by having Get Medieval’s Knight School come to your school for the After School Club! Watch your students get active, build confidence, and develop teamwork as they have fun with safe, medieval sword fighting. Educational aspects are rolled in and solidified by sparking an interest in the past through active and fun activities! All this at no cost to the school. Contact us now to register your school’s interest.

Two great ways to pay

Parents pay

With this option parents can pay upfront to allow their child to partake in the weekly workshops. This can either be paid to you and then us, or straight to us. We require a minimum of 16 students for this option to cover our costs. We can offer a reduced rate to those students on free school meals.

School pays

With this option the school would pay us upfront to facilitate the activity for either 5 or 10 weeks.

What do the students think?

We could tell you what we think your students will develop from our After School Club, but we feel it’s better coming from them. We asked our KS2 students at the end of their final session what they felt they improved throughout the sessions and this is a list of what they came up with.

Quality assured

  • All our school activities are designed to be safe. Especially the sword fighting. Utilising modern equipment, and a robust safety briefing (don’t worry it doesn’t take long!), we make sure that you and your guest's safety is paramount so that everyone can have fun.

    • Confidence in the kit. We use top of the line, sports grade equipment at every booking that is regularly checked for integrity. We always carry a first aid kit in the rare case of injury.

    • Confidence in the staff. All our staff are trained in how to properly deliver the safety briefing to ensure you and your guests are safe while having fun.

    • Confidence in the briefing. We have a robust safety briefing which is delivered at every booking. This covers how to properly wear and use the equipment and the important rules to follow.

Don’t just take our word for it, Dan from Gone Wild Devon wrote ‘‘Really fun family activity well organised and good safety.’'

  • Our booking process starts by getting in contact with us through our email: info@get-medieval.co.uk, or through our contact form. Once you've done that we get back to you as soon as we can. Working together we make sure all the details are confirmed (class size, workshop options, address, contact information) and once a small deposit has been paid be rest assured that we will show up on time and be ready to give you a day you won't soon forget.

  • Kit is cleaned before and after every session to guarentee cleanliness.

  • We have years of experience working within the education sector both in schools and heritage which has given us the skills to engage and handle SEND kids. Moreover, we pride ourselves on making sure all students can participate in our activities. In fact, we tend to get surprised reactions from teachers when typically troublesome kids are fully engaged and not disrupting due to their engagement with the activities.

  • We will try our upmost to rework sessions if you change your mind. Usually we can accommodate changes but some workshops require pre-prepared components so might not be possible. The more notice you give us the better! Please get in touch via info@get-medieval.co.uk if you have such a request.

  • Yes, all our staff are DBS checked. We understand that schools sometimes wish to do their own DBS check and we are happy to assist in this by providing any information you need. Please understand that due to how DBS checks work we, as an independent small business, cannot independently get the full check your school may require.

  • Our activities are primarily aimed at KS1 and KS2 but some, such as Anarchy, Knight School and select others, are appropriate for KS1-4. Please get in touch to learn more about our offerings for KS3 and KS4.

Please note that, for safety and insurance reasons, Knight School is limited to children ages 6 and over.

  • Our sessions are designed to fill an hour period. If you have different timed periods please get in touch so we can work out the best way to fill your day.

  • If, for whatever reason, you need to cancel your booking then simply get in contact with us at info@get-medieval.co.uk.

As long as you cancel 5 working days before your booking then you will be entitled to a full refund. If you believe you have extenuating circumstances then please let us know and we will be happy to work it out with you. For a full breakdown of our policies, including cancellations, then check our policies page here.

  • Our sessions are designed to facilitate a typical class. So between 20-30 students at a time. If you have smaller class sizes then you can leave them as is or merge them together. If you have really large class sizes we may need to split them up. If you are concerned with this then please get in contact via info@get-medieval.co.uk or mention it in the enquiry form below.

  • Our activities can be run simultaneously to accomodate an entire year group, or potentially an entire school, so you can run a dedicated medieval day.

How does it work?

We try and keep our after school club as simple as possible for you. All we need to know is where your school is, what time your school day ends, how many students are taking part, how many weeks you’d like the club to run, and which payment method you’d prefer. Once everything is confirmed be assured that we will be there as expected ready to run our exciting after school club!

Step 1: Get in touch

Use our enquiry form, or email info@get-medieval.co.uk, to find out more information. Already know what you want? Great, let us know that and we can move ahead with the other steps.

Step 2: Details

We need a few details from you including:

  • Contact information including phone number or email

  • Payment option (either school pays or parents pay)

Step 3: Confirmation

Once that’s all done we’ll email you with a confirmation email detailing what you’ve ordered along with a small deposit to secure your date. It’s as easy as that!
