Sounds great but how do we play?

Your guide will introduce the game by giving a brief overview of the events just prior to the Anarchy. The guide will then introduce how the game works and give an example of how the characters can attempt to win.

Throughout the game a video will play displaying the year and historic events which may completely change the flow of the game!

What happens during the game?

Our game begins in 1138 and finishes in 1153. During the game the players must attempt to achieve their character’s ambition and survive the final battle at the end of the game by being on the winning team.

Some characters will die.
(and take the role of their heir).

Some will rise to power.

But only one will become the next King or Queen of England!

Do I need to know about the Anarchy?

You don’t need to know the history in order to play and enjoy the game. By playing the game you’ll discover how chaotic life as a medieval noble would have been during The Anarchy!

We believe play is a great way to contextualise history, giving players historical dilemmas to resolve and build empathy and understanding with the past.
